Lent a Journey of Renewal

Lent is an invitation to walk again the journey of renewal and conversion towards the great feasts of Easter and Pentecost. Kieran O’Mahony’s new book on the Gospel readings for Lent and Holy Week: Year A sets out to bring us step by step with Jesus on his journey towards resurrection.
Following on from his first volume, which covered Advent and Christmas, his second volume, Hearers of The Word – Praying and Exploring the Readings Lent & Holy Week: Year A maps the readings of Lent and Holy Week, drawing together the story of Jesus’ final days with accompanying commentary, prayer guides and reflections.
Hearers of the Word facilitates us in listening attentively to the Word of God so we may find spiritual nourishment and illumination in the readings. It is a great resource for those involved in Lectio Divina, either individually or in a group, looking as it does to combine spirituality and contemporary biblical scholarship.
Kieran J O’Mahony OSA is an Augustinian friar and biblical scholar. He is coordinator of biblical studies with the Dublin Archdiocese and is well-known for his very popular Weekly Notes – an email resource for each week’s readings throughout the year.
Hearers of The Word – Praying and Exploring the Readings for Advent and Christmas: Year A by Kieran J O’Mahony OSA is published in Ireland and the UK by Messenger Publications. Priced at €14.95/£12.95
