Dear Friends,
I hope this message finds you safe and well.
The occasion of the celebration of the Resurrection of our Lord challenges us again, in ways we never expected these days, to be messengers of hope and new life. Very often we share with our congregations that these charities begin at home but never has this been more true than at present. Bereft of our usual ministries and searching bravely for new ways of communicating with our loved ones, our flock, our volunteers and our employees, we are thrown back to basic realities: our own relationship with God and with each other:
Before all else, dear brothers, love God and then your neighbour. The Rule, 1.
The main purpose for your having come together is to live harmoniously in your house, intent upon God in oneness of mind and heart. The Rule, 2.
The instructions from the Government are challenging for us all but I am delighted that we are, by and large, abiding by them. They protect us as individuals and, even more, the most vulnerable amongst us. Let us pray that this pandemic will end soon and then a very real celebration of New Life and Easter Hope can recommence!
I wish you all a blessed and happy Easter! The Easter bunny has no restrictions imposed upon her, I understand, so enjoy the celebrations too!
God bless you all.
John OSA.
