Today is the feast day of our Parish Church, St. Catherine of Alexandria, Meath St., Dublin. We wish them every joy and blessing for their celebrations.
St. Catherine according to legend debated with 50 pagan philosophers. They hoped to convince her to renounce her faith. Instead, Catherine converted them to Christianity. Furious, the Emperor ordered her to be put to death on a spiked wheel; but the wheel broke. Eventually, she was martyred by beheading.
